Author - Artist - Voice Over Actor

Month: June 2025

I didn’t want it to come to this.

When I began writing this blog at the start of the year, as part of my Toastmasters’ assignment and eventual speech, I had promised to do two postings a week.

Love From the Internet.

Long before there were Dating Aps, long before there were Dating websites, love existed on the internet.

Many years ago… Many, many, years ago; when the internet was basically a series of bulletin boards, and AOL was just a few tones on your landline phone, I was seeking out places where I could network with fellow writers, comic book artists, and animators. It was a great place, just reading each other’s posts. No graphics to distract you from the important content.

The Heat

This week is only two days old and I feel like I’ve been fighting three weeks worth of pain.
I woke up at 1am Monday morning feeling really sick. Spent much of the morning in the bathroom worshiping at the porcelain alter. Then had no energy to do anything else the rest of the day.
Monday came to an end with a growing headache.

Lover on a Shelf

I feel like I have been cheating on a lover.
A few months ago I walked into a bookstore (that chain store, you know the one) to explore while I waited for my wife to get off work.

Birthday Week

Hi All,

This is a special week in our family.

Today is my mother’s birthday, and tomorrow is my own.

Content is King…

Or so they say, but figuring out what content is isn’t easy.
While out walking yesterday I stopped to record one of my YouTube Shorts. Forgetting the sound of cars in the background I recorded it three times but wasn’t happy with it at all.
Coming up with content ideas for little shorts is bad enough, coming up with content for two regular blogs here a week, and one more about Voice Acting over at Substack is all the harder.

Job Search Dilemma

When you have a lot of other things to do, writing a blog can easily slip your mind.

This one didn’t come as easy as last week’s My Little Pony rant. So, let’s see where it takes us.

As you know, I’ve been searching for employment. I’ve been search for quite some time (it feels like forever). I did have a ten-year job at the Fullerton College Foundation, as the Assistant to the Executive Director. That ended in January of 2020, and soon after, the world shut down.
