Hi all,

I began this blog at the start of the year by doing a series of posts as part of an assignment for Toastmasters. That went on for a couple of months, and I’ve kept the blog going consistently ever since (well, other than missing a day here and there like tonight).

My next Toastmasters speech will be based on a blog I wrote a few weeks ago, about whether Yield Signs are necessary or not. What do you think? I’ll be giving that speech in a couple of weeks. Should be fun.

I am also in the early planning stages of another Toastmasters assignment, and this one is going to be very difficult. Like the Blogging assignment, it is going to last several weeks to a couple of months.

The assignment: to create a podcast. It is to have at least an hour worth of content by the time is completed, broken into segments of possibly six 10-minute episodes or ten 6-minute episodes. That’s the least of my concerns at the moment.

The most important thing I am struggling to work out what the content will be. This is the hardest part and panning the project and podcast.

The easiest way to do this would be to take the ten blogs that I did for the original assignment and turn them into episodes. This would be a series about my love for comics, how comics helped me to learn to read, and how my career in comics began.

Yet, I’ve already done that, I want to think of something else.

For now, most everything I write in a blog or say in podcast is going to be “me centric”, meaning it’s based on my experience and what I’m interested in. So, you’ll possibly be learning more about me than the actual topic of the podcast, whether you like it or not.

Here are some ideas:

  1. Comic Books
  2. Writing, it began with the Art, and about my novels and stories.
  3. The struggles I face in my job search.
  4. Voice Acting, and why I want to be one.
  5. Memories from school – you might learn something or laugh your head off.

Then there are the two subjects that I won’t be doing. Politics and Religion. Right now both are extreme ‘hot button issues’ and not something we want to touch in Toastmasters at the moment.

In general, Politics isn’t something I want to focus on. As for Religion, I look forward to one day doing a podcast or stream about my Faith in Christ, but not for this assignment.

The only thing I won’t be doing, at least for now, is having a guest on the podcast. Unless I interview myself. Who knows.

So that leaves the five (make that four) ideas listed above. The next question is can I make six to ten episodes on of any of them?

This is something I’m working at, but don’t have an answer for quite yet, but I’ll get there.

Which also explains why tonight’s blog is so short and a day late. There’s a lot going on, mostly struggling with the job search, but I keep going.
