Or so they say, but figuring out what content is isn’t easy.
While out walking yesterday I stopped to record one of my YouTube Shorts. Forgetting the sound of cars in the background I recorded it three times but wasn’t happy with it at all.
Coming up with content ideas for little shorts is bad enough, coming up with content for two regular blogs here a week, and one more about Voice Acting over at Substack is all the harder.
Sometimes I’m late posting (like today), but I have a lot going on in my life right now. However, I’m not giving up.
On top of that, tomorrow I’m leading Toastmasters as the Toastmasters himself. The last time I did that things didn’t go too well. Nothing I did, but it wasn’t good.
We usually meet at a local church, but we also have meetings over Zoom. Every meeting some people Zoom into the meeting even while we’re at the church, but every other meeting we are completely over Zoom. (Zoom meetings began during Covid. Zoom has been a blessing as I have previously mentioned saved my Voice Acting classes).
Anyway, during one of our Zoom meetings, we usually have over twenty people in each meeting, this time we had a few more. One was a young man and the other didn’t turn the camera on.
I began the introduction…
Suddenly a White board was activated and someone began to draw nasty pictures on it for everyone in the meeting to see. Zoom-Bombers!!! (At least it wasn’t the porn video that began to play in a previous meeting I had been part of a few years earlier.)
Immediately the leaders of the group responded by kicking out the Zoom-Bombers. Unfortunately, I was kicked out as well. I, the actual Toastmaster of the group, was kicked out of the meeting and the Zoom system wouldn’t let me back in as if I was one of the Zoom-Bombers.
Luckily my wife is also a member of our group, so I was able to sit with her at her computer through the rest of the meeting doing the rest of my introduction speeches.
A little frustration but we carried on, now we hope that none of that happens tomorrow.
Another thing about Toastmasters, after giving a few more speeches, an assignment down the road will be to create a Podcast: six episodes being ten minutes each to make a full hour of content.
If I can’t figure out how to fill a little blog like this one, how am I going to do sixty minutes’ worth of podcasts. Don’t know, but it’s going to be fun finding out.
